Looks nice, it should be priced at 200$ for the GT version and lower for the non GT version, if the 7600GT can achieve 6800Ultra performance or better then its game over for the 6800GS.

Now lets hope nvidia decides to release an AGP version.

GeForce 7600 GS has 8 pipelines and 3VS and is clocked at 500MHz core and 1GHz memory while the 7600GT has 12 pipelines and 5 VS clocked at 500/1000MHz too. A preliminary testing done by 3DNews.ru revealed that a 7600GS will outperform a GeForce 6600GT by some 10-15%. We have also heard that a GeForce 7600GT will score around 4.8-5.2K on 3DMark05, similar to that of the ATi X1600XT but gaming performance should be higher.

specs. are similar to the 6800GS, i scored 6405 on 3Dmark05 with a OC of 540/1200mhz with my 6800GS, i wouldn't be surprised if the 7600GT could achieve something similar or better with a nice OC.

6800GS has 256bit but the 7600GT only comes with 128bit ..... My moneys on the 256bit card any day!

In the case of the FX 5200 256mb variant, you'd lose. More video ram is not always useful.

I believe he was referring to the memory bus width not the amount of RAM installed on the card.

7600GT should outperform or equal a 6800U from yesteryear... like how the 6600GT rapes teh FX5950..

but maybe not since this isnt a architecture change, but a refresh .. so less improvements

that fan on the first pic makes me alittle sick though... seem slike it will be louder than hell

Damn, guess I'm stuck in the days were the top midrange cards were just as fast as the top high end card from the last gen... not just a bit better than the top midend from last gen.

See, the 9600XT was better than the Ti4600, the 6600GT was better than the 9800Pro and so on and so forth, now the X1600Pro and 7600GT are the same as the 6600GT, what the hell is up with that?

Like some one pointed out earlier, I think it will replace the 6800GS. Similar performance, similar price but it will be very cheap for Nvidia. (bigger profit margin)

6600GT owner here. This time I'm going to pass on the midrange cards and get a high end card in the 300-350 range.

REPOST.

thats exactly what i was thinking.

along with the release of the 7900, the new 76/79s are gona be major releases! there might be some big big price drops!!!

apparently the X800XT should NOT perform up to the standards of the 7600GT, however we will see!

Akuma -- me too!!!!!

dingo -- i agree

saurav -- probably not :(
