Ever since i got this new mother board EPOX EP-8kdaj, my screen has been all garbled and i can't boot into windows. I get lines all over the screen and the boot screen is all garbled text. I can't even read the bios. THough I have the motherboard guide and have been able to set some bios settings. This is making me very mad. I have been through alot with this computer and it has been nothing but trouble. My video card is the the 6800gt. Now when I unistall the video card drivers I can boot into windows but the screen still has all kind of lines and stuff on it. When I install the vid card drivers a blue screen comes up that says IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL. I have uninstalled reinstalled. Currently all i have powered is 4 fans including cpu fan, 1 HDD, 1 CD-rom drive, and 2 sticks of ddr 400 memory. ALL of this on a thermaltake 480 psu. WHat i don't get is that 3 days ago this vid card worked perfectly on my computer but then the usb port went bad and i bought a different motherboard the above one and when i set it all up the screen was garble. I really need help with this I have tried all kinds of stuff and I am really in a bind.

Sounds like you shorted something on the video card during the second installation. I would suggest you RMA your video card. Other than that, make sure nothing is touching the PCB, like loose screws, metal shavings (yes this does happen if you mod your case), or other small metallic objects. Since the card is not completely dead, the artifacts are signs of damage. That IRQ not less or equal BSOD relates to your video and happens when cards are overclocked too much.

Thats the thing i have never overclock before or anything. Part of me thinks it the board because when I tried to update the bios it said something about the bios lock string does not match.

I don't know if the motherboard can cause a graphics card to artifact, but you may have not grounded yourself properly when installing the second time and shocked the card.

If you really want to diagnose the problem, try the graphics card on the computer you are on right now and see if it produces the same artifacts.

Call a friend and ask if you can do a swap to test the card. That'll definitely diagnose your problem.
