http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=478276 Well on the bottom side ATI is on top. Well ATI's next generation entry level card puts the smack down Nvidia''s current midrange card. One small step for ATI one hugh step for whatever. 2882 in 3DMark05 is not bad . This is a 4 pipe card 4x2882= (can't do it this way. But if we could we would get 1 hell of a score.)(11,528) I can't wait to see the X1800xt scores and its smallish 16 pipes or 4 quads. and meger 625mgz core and its slow 1400mgz memory speed . We ati'ers are going to be so disappointed. Yep we better pack it in nvidia owns ATI

I believe the x1300 is a 4pipe card or 1 quad.(not sure) Nvidia 6600 is a 8 pipe card (not sure check) if this is correct the excitement should build as more leaks get out. I personnally am in pressed.

I think the Turtle is trying to point out that the score is impressive for 4 pipes, which IMO, if it's true, it is impressive. 8 last-gen pipe performance out of 4. I doubt it will scale, but in a week we'll know for sure.

Yes it is 1quad ATI against 8 pipes for the nvidia card. If it does scale THE X1600xt will give the 7800 all it can handle. if it scales and it should.

I don't believe them scores are from a four pipe card - I doubt very much Ati has bettered slightly their 8 pipe X700 (which clocked at 400Mhz and had 700MHz GDDR3 Ram), which according to reviews I've seen, gets 2800 3D Marks in 3D Mark 05 at 1024x768?

More likely is that this is an 8 pipe card, with 4 ROP's, like the 6600 of NVidia's.

Or that the score isn't for the same resolution.

Or is it clocked at over 600Mhz (which would give it more actual fillrate power)?

Hkepc also said a x1800xl gets 7000 3dmarks, so how can a 16pipe card get 7000 while a 4 pipe get 3000? It doesnt add up.

Most likely 4 ROP's and 8 pipes like suggested.

Hay link to where Hkepc says 7000 3dMark 05 score is reported. Your math is good if it scaled 100%(it won't)X1800X= 11,528 3DMark scores. Thats probably not correct as the X1800XT is a 512 memory bus ring with 512 memory installed . X1300 is 256 memory bus ring with 128mb memory installed . The X1800xt has much faster core and memory speed so . I am sure 11,528 score is off but which way I don't know 5 days left till
