Good article, but what's annoying is most 6600 reviews tend to focus almost exclusively on the GT and hardly mention the vanilla 6600. This one dosen't even show a stock 6600 in the benchmarks.
In my opinion, we are now at the point where the 6600 vanilla is a completely different card from the 6600 soley based upon price. A 6600 GT is still up in the $150 range refubed in most places while the 6600 is in the $70 range. The 6600 can also core clock right out of the box to GT speed, though still only 70% memory clock at best with stock cooling.
I just recieved my new egg gigabyte 6600 and am very happy. Paid all of $68 and got everything in the box even though it listed as OEM card only, so got the adapter, the software, thief, and the cable.
