hello every one
first i would like to thank you for this marvelous forum which i find so useful i want to make my own PC i was about to buy this video card:

Gigabyte Geforce GT 630 2GB DDR3

as i have heard that Nvidia is the best but some one told me that this one:

SAPPHIRE HD 7750 1GB OC GDDR5

is better, so i just would like to know what do you think... and if both are not good and any of you have better one please tell me about but to be with the same price or near to it....

thanks for any attention you may give to my post

thank you

7750 is hands down the better card. In fact its the best card out atm that doesnt require external power. But you may want to pay a bit more and buy a 7770, since its a small price to pay for the performance increase you would see in games. But keep in mind these are all budget cards so dont expect anything spectacular.

Just curious but what is this pc for, what's a good budget for you on a card (seems like just over $100 from your post), and what kind of performance do you want? It would help with recommendations :)

Yea the DDR5 7750 is way faster than the 630.

The 7770 is also a good card for about the same cost as many 7750 cards.

^^

If you are gaming then get the 7750 DDR5 or 7770 if you can afford it, if you are not gaming then any 6450, 610, etc... card will work fine.

AMD 7750, AMD 7770, Nvidia 650, and Nvidia 650 Ti... those are the minimum cards you want to look for in the $100 range. 7770 and 650 Ti are fastest, and you can usually get them around $110-120 on sale. 7750 will do you fine too, as long as you get DDR5 (not DDR3).

7750 should be about twice as fast as the 630. Even the 640 is only like ~60% of a 7750's performance.

So the 7750 is a much much better buy.

For 100$ you want to either get a 7750 or a GTX 650.
Anything less is you getting cheated.

I have a query.
How fast OC version of HD7750 compare to standard version ?
Are OC version of 7750 overheat due to higher GPU Clock ?
Heard MSI HD7750 Power Edition has 6pin power connector ?
Does that mean it use lot of power ?
Thought there are other model from Gigabyte and Sapphire OC version which does not need any 6pin.

From just a quick look at TPU,
"HIS Radeon HD7750 IceQ X Turbo" was the fastest OC card I could find.

Its GPU clock is around 900mhz instead of the stock 800mhz (12,5% OC).
Which translated into it being about ~8% faster on avg in tests they ran.

Are OC version of 7750 overheat due to higher GPU Clock ?
This version of the 7750, dispite being OC card, is has the lowest temps of all the cards (7750's) reviewed on TPU. It comes down to how good the cooling solution is, usally overclocked cards have better cooling than normal cards.

As far as I know (AFAIK) the IceQ X turbo, does use a 6pin power connector.

Heard MSI HD7750 Power Edition has 6pin power connector ?
Yes, look at this picture of it: You can see the 6pin connector.

Does that mean it use lot of power ?
No its power use is very simular to the other cards.
Why is it there? incase you want to overclock it "more" than it comes by default, you can give it more "juice" (power) to help get it stable and higher clocked.

Asus has a card @900mhz without 6pin:

This is probably the highest clocked card without a 6pin connector.
Its also one of the cheaper models going for around 89$.

Thanks for detail reply!

I want to buy HD7750 for my brother soon.
But,confused between brand and model.
These are the option available here.
http://www.flipkart.com/graphics-ca...KR5YV7GYZZP,GRCD7VQNQRTA5XN3,GRCDG8RFSZJZAAF3

HIS totally new in my country.
One user review of MSI saying load temp 83C.
That's why I afraid to go for MSI even MSI card is 900MHz and price is not higher.
Sapphire and MSI GPUs are popular in my country compare to Asus and Gigabyte.

@Revolution

Instead of buying by brand, I would google review + card name.
Then look at the cooling solution, its temp's and noise levels.

I dont care much for warrenties or how long those last ect.
I dont believe in them. Instead I make sure the thing Im buying is made well.
Quality > warrenty
(rather have a card that didnt break at all, than one thats easy to get swapped out)

out of those 3 cards:
Sapphire > Gigabyte > MSI

in terms of their cooling solutions (I think).

Very few review on 7750.
And there are lot of model of HD7750 even from same brand.
So hard find any review on particular model of card.
I think Sapphire is one of the best brand for ATI cards.

Make sure what ever brand you by it is the DDR5 version. The DDR3 is much slower.

After that look for a decent sized heatsink and then the warranty/name.

It should run fine on any B75 motherboard. IIRC the PCI lane is handled by the CPU anyway, the motherboard just has the connector for it.

If you have 2 PCI-e 3.0 lanes, use the top one (closest to the CPU).

Before I came across this thread, I just picked up the Asus HD7750-T over it's 820Mhz counterpart yesterday. Being a non-gamer, I primary wanted it for it's ability to support 3 monitors on a pre-built Dell 660. Not having to upgrade the psu was a factor too.

Not being technically savvy myself, aren't the 2 Asus cards the same? I mean in the sense that with the included software, you could just overclock the non -T version yourself?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...24%24%24%24%24

Right?

The faster one is cheaper right now due to the free shipping. But yea both are listed as having GDDR5 so go with which ever one is cheaper.
