NVIDIA 6200LE VS Geforce TI 4200

Hi all,

Just have a question, out of two which one is faster ignoring the fact the 6 series supports shadermodels? Just want to see which one is faster in terms of speed when playing old games such as warcraft while taking no architectural advantages into account.

Thanks!

The Ti-4200 was faster than the Vanilla 5700 FX in Dx8, and the FX 5700 is faster than any 6200 for Dx8 and OpenGL. An "LE" anything is always a terrible cripple, a very poor value, unless it is very easily unlocked (most are not). If anyone had been thinking about video model numbers taking the AMD performance number route back in 2002, the Ti-4200 would've been a "5750". Incidentally, when you bring the comparison on into the seventh generation, the 7300 GT is faster at running anything than a Ti-4200, about like a Ti-4600 for Dx8 and OpenGL, I think.

Both would be extremely slow by today's standards. If the 6200 was a non LE then I would say it would be a bit faster, but they actually should be pretty similar in performance.

The 6200 does do DX9 though so that's a bonus.
