So I finally decided to get a 6800 over the 6600GT after reading countless posts. My question is, will the prices be going down anytime soon on the 6800 series? The Evga 6800 is at 189 now, which isn't bad, but the GT's and such are still a bit expensive for me, because I also need more RAM and a new sound card. Is nvidia going to release a plain 7800 in the near future, say a month or so. I really want to play the BF 2 demo, but my Ti4400 isnt supported. And I realy don't want to wait too long to get a new card, because I don't want to play newer games on low settings with my Ti4400. I wan't to play with nice looking graphics. : /

I'ts too bad ATI doesn't have an equal to the 6800 price wise. At least in AGP, which I need.

With my luck, I would buy a 6800 now, and either the price will drop, or a new line of cards will come out at about the same price I paid for my 6800 : / I hate when it's time to buy new stuff.

I don't see an AGP GF7 anytime soon.

A price drop on the 6800nu, though, maybe. I see them dropping slightly every week. Wait another week or two and get one, I would think.

I too hope they release another round of AGP cards. I want the 6800GT but am not getting it because the WMV HD acceleration is broken. I need this computer to last me till I'm out of college (that'll be 5+ years)......thus I want it to be able to watch high definition videos/trailers. Anything less than the 6800GT would be a waste for my system....my comp's capable of handling a 6800GT, but I can't get it because of broken purevideo stuff. If they come out with a 7600GT AGP I'd run out and pick it up in a heartbeat.

Hmm, you should switch to PCIe, then. Grab a $150 venice, a $135 DFI Ultra-D (mod it to SLi), and re-use your old RAM. That's only $285 for a very nice A64 PCIe setup. Wait for a $400 7800GT, $685. Not too bad, considering the performance you're getting.
