The NDA has been lifted on the NVIDIA 590SLI Intel Edition but production level boards will not be available for a couple of weeks, maybe more. We have review samples on the way and will post once we have results.

why does the Intel 570SLI chipset have only 20 PCIe lanes when the AMD version is equipped with 28 PCIe lanes?

never got a good answer to this question.

The 570 is based on the already existing NF4 chipset, old stuff with a new name.

We already previewed that board. If you want SLI and do not mind the minimal overclocking abilities then it is a good board.

The 570SLI Intel Edition is just marketing speak. The chipset itself is the "old" but revised C19A-SPP and MCP51. The AMD 570SLI uses the new MCP55 in a single chipset configuration.

sorry i did not mean to imply i wanted a 570 board. I just thought if it was coming out on the 4th that might mean the 590 was right behind it.

I also didn't realise you had already previewd the 570.

It seems obvious i was wrong in assuming a 570 release would mean an imminent 590 release.

sorry about that :)

edit: this is the board i think i am waiting for:

(although quad sli is overkill for me)

and that 3rd 16x slot --what is that for? :) physics video?

many thanks, does this hold true for the 590 SLI?

and when do nVidia plan to update their intel chipsets?

330Mhz seems to be the FSB wall. Not good for o/c fans.

For people running SLI and willing to use the E6700 or X6800 that might be enough.

Someone hit 346FSB with it but the board never worked the same afterwards. ;) That said, expect a consistent 320~325FSB range and that is about it on a 24/7 basis. Overall, for a solid SLI gaming system that can push a E6700 a little ways it appears to be a really good board.

The Intel 590SLI will utilize the MCP55 from the AM2 board so you end up with EPP, Dual Native Gigabit Ethernet, true dual PCI-E x16 lanes for SLI, and a few other updates. However, the SPP is still the C19A series so the memory limitations and overclocking ability will be the same as previous boards.

NVIDIA appears to be on track for a late winter/early spring refresh for the Intel chipsets although this could change at anytime.

Works for me as I won't be OCing unless SLI arrives on an Intel chipset before I do my upgrade.

I thought they changed the C19A chip to their new C51XE chip?

No, they did not have time to tweak it and still get to market before their new chipset would be available.

how does their Intel 570SLI chipset work then|
