See the following thread at DVDTalk:
Nvidia disables *all* dvd playback when non-Macrovision tv chip is present I am digitalmanAZ in the thread.

Is this old news around here? I searched for macrovision, 40.72, 41.09 and didn't find anything. Can anyone point to company or news sites that reported this change in nVidia's drivers?

Do most new cards use a TV encoder chip that supports Macrovison? The non-Macrovision chips were probably used on the cheaper cards?

EDIT: Fixed link

those SOBs! That explains why I have not been able to watch any DVDs lately with PowerDVD. I kept giving me some damn internal error. The only way i have found a way around this is to load the files manually using "open media Files" and than adding the VIDEO_TS folder.

Kind of a pain in the ass, but at least it works.

tcsenter, thx for fixing link.

I put the 40.72 drivers on last night and DVD playback works fine. Hopefully nVidia will fix this issue.
