nVidia 400 Series Image Quality Analysis

Thanks for making this thread. I read the link earlier when IDontCare posted the link in another thread (I forget which).

I was earlier thinking of the days where, I believe at a LAN playing Quake 3, my friends and I compared the IQ of Quake 3 on my then Geforce DDR and a friend's Voodoo 2 SLI. They didn't believe me at first that there was a difference but I'd zoom in on the quad damage powerup and show them the differences. I recall the differences being quite substantial.

There have been numerous claims lately in this forum regarding IQ differences between AMD and Nvidia. I would truly be interested (hopefully BFG10K will do this) in a comparison between the 5XXX series, 6XXX series and 4XX series together so we can put this issue to bed. If I've missed part of this (say 5XXX versus 4XX) I'd appreciate a pointer in the right direction.

I can't read the article right now, but I'd really wish more monitor makers would put out some bigger 120hz IPS panels that are reasonably priced.

I think we miss a lot of the potential quality of any of these cards just based on the shitty displays most of us use.

Thanks for the feedback, and for the thread. 🙂

I've already done ATi 4000 vs ATi 5000 vs nVidia 200, but due to forum rules I'm not allowed to link to my articles outside of my sig. Having said that, somebody else posted a link here (second link from bottom):

I plan on covering the 6000 series when I get my hands on one.
