Oh BTW, the performance anomaly with physx in Batman: AC in the beta release is now completely fixed in this WHQL. I mentioned this a few days ago w.r.t. the beta, but now I get 99% GPU usage with physx-HIGH in Batman: AC in the WHQL!

So far so good. Far Cry 3 also seems a bit better, even though the 780 isn't specifically mentioned in the patch notes.

Shrug. Try it in Batman: AC. My settings in the beta were FXAA, everything maxed, Physx-high. My GPU usage wouldn't go to 99-100% with the beta, but it is fine with the WHQL.

gpu usage hardly ever goes anywhere near 100% in areas with hardware physx. its always been that way and seems quite ironic as you would think gpu physx needs the most usage. my benchmark is basically identical to all of the other drivers I have tested with. again this driver is no different than the beta so something may have happened with your install if you are getting better performance now.

TechPowerUp has posted an article that alludes to issues with these drivers. I can't check the Geforce forums link though. I don't know if they are down? Or, if I just can't connect?

Some pretty unhappy 7 series owners in that thread.
So much for "NVDA has teh awesomest drivers" meme...

User NBKJoker:
So reading the release notes I see nothing about Battlefield 3 artifact issues being addressed. That is what thousands of people are waiting for and you put out this? Which essentially does nothing but give people buying 760's a driver they can use... which is still broken.

My friend just dropped serious cash on two 780's and what does he get? A broken driver with no way of rolling back to an old one. And then this. Which doesn't address the biggest issue everyone had in the 320 series. Just fix BF3. Most played multiplayer shooter on the PC and you can't get it to work? It worked previously. Obviously you all did something to [redacted] it up so why not just address that?

You have until the end of the month to sort this or I will be getting an AMD before the launch of BF4. I've had it with the lack of communication and addressing of actual issues. I read in there you are patching [redacted] [redacted] for battlefield 2142? Who the [redacted] plays that? And fixes for people running 200 series cards in 3 way sli? WHO IN GOOD CLEAN [redacted] USES A 200 SERIES CARD!?!?!?

How about you guys worry about people that are dropping hundreds or in some cases over a thousand dollars on Nvidia hardware. Instead of some poor [redacted] running an ancient [redacted] that couldn't compute Minesweeper.
:\

Its a weird feeling, normally one updates to the latest drivers... but since I've got this 670, I actually have to read forums before using a new NV driver. There's like a little goblin at the back of my head that warns of impending doom that I may end up with a combustible 670 if I pick the wrong drivers.

Worried too much? Reading this: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-driver-feedback-thread-released-6-25-13-/43/

Worries are justified.

Same advice I always give, "If the new drivers break something, roll back to the previous ones and wait for the next release." I really don't think you need to worry that your 670 is going to self combust. :)

NVIDIA drivers can be a little quirky. On 314.XX (the entire 314 release) I had a bug where my card's core clock could not be pushed past 775 MHz (usually around 1050 MHz).

I was about to return it and go AMD before 320 came out and fixed it.

But nobody is perfect it seems like. AMD and NVIDIA have some driver release scars. 320.49 is a WHQL release that is older than the current beta driver. It may contain some DX11.2 features (but who uses them yet?). I would recommend waiting since this driver isn't anything special. I have read on another forum how this driver makes Metro LL nice and buttery, but I think its a placebo effect.

This driver like the previous one causes random lockups on 560 cards, quite a few users have reported the problem in the Geforce.com forums, personally also had the same issue,I've gone back to the trusted 314.22s which have always been solid for me.

Hopefully Nvidia will trackthe issue down but the last few drivers have not been good IMHO for 560 cards.

I use a different operating system than most of you but my experience has been the same. the Nvidia driver isn't up to par on Linux either.
