Ran into the Deus Ex bug over the weekend. Had to do a registry hack to get around it (the game would basically take hours to load the intro graphics). Glad they fixed it, although it was a pretty glaring error.

Max frames render ahead set to 2 would fix it for many. No clue why setting it to 1 or application preference would cause 1fps. Some people claimed all kinds of things fixed it for them. Good to see nvidia with a fix

Soo far Ive played BF3 MW3 , skyrim, max 3

Very smooth and fast, these drivers dont break anything as well. Dont be afraid to install it. Beta just means microsoft hasnt gotten their hands on it and gave it WHQL and what not.. gg gl,

The main 2 games I play are WoW and D3. Granted I don't care for D3 much currently. I play League of Legends too but that's not a very taxing game.

One thing I would like to mention is some people are having issues with the new 300 series of drivers from nvidia with delays when alt tabbing due to slow clock speed switches. For example at windows my gtx 580 would be at 50mhz and when alt tabbing after a long period of time back into WoW, the screen would hang for a sec.

The fix I read around this was to just overclock slightly. Seeing as I have a gtx 580 dcuii I don't mind overclocking her =D.

Either way, if anyone runs into the issue, just overclock the card slightly, and for whatever reason that will help with the delayed alt tabbing issues.

Interesting, maybe it forces the drivers into a different power state or something. Have you tried setting prefer Max performance in the power settings in the nvidia control panel?

Why not just simply download it, install it with "clean install". It will automatically take care of everything for you. One reboot and you are fine.

cmdrdredd - I just set it to max performance thanks for the reminder. I forget to do that on new windows installs. ahhh how i love this ssd :).

lol all you had to do was changed the pre rendered frame setting.

earlier you had said to change it to application controlled which was not correct. application controlled is on by default and you have to change it to something else. 3 worked for me but I did not try any other number.

I didn't actually wait for it to load... I found a hack long before that! Actually used one to disable threading optimization.

It worked for one startup. Next time it didn't.

these drivers seem to be utterly unstable. BF3 crashed multiple times today. reverted back to 301.42 for the time being.

What GPU are you using? Currently at work waiting to give these a try when I get home.

Just a suggestion but did you try uninstalling drivers, do a driver sweep then install new ones?

Sometimes it helps me when I have odd things going on.

So far no issues with WoW. Just started my raid, will let you guys know how everything goes.

Also quick question, what are "normal" overclocks for a gtx 580 dcuii? OR any 580 in general for that matter.

Edit: This is kinda odd. When I alt tab into WoW. For a split second I see black, obviously, but I see white numbers and then the actual game. The alt tab time is normal, fast everything is good, but during alt tab back into WoW, i see some numbers for like an 8th of a second.

Yeah you may be doing it wrong. I double click the exe and keep clicking next til it's done (dont uninstall old ones first). Pretty sure I don't even have to reboot. I always do this with nvidia drivers never had a prolem.

I recommend a "clean" install though. Nvidia gives this option when you click the custom button. Load the exe, click custom, hit next a bunch of times and you are set. It's not a good idea to just install drivers over old drivers kami. Doing a clean install is the "proper" way.

ok I thought these drivers were broken, my 3dmark score went from 9850 to 9370. I had done the "clean" install. But after I went the route of uninstall, driversweep, install, my score is back to 9800.
