Nvidia just posted 1Q22 financial results (they work off a different financial calendar but I'm calling it 1Q22 to be consistent with Intel and AMD for discussion purposes). Results were strong but 2Q guidance was slightly weaker than expected.

Revenue of $8.28B (+46.3% Y/Y)
Record quarterly revenue for Data Center and Gaming
NVIDIA’s outlook for the second quarter of fiscal 2023 is as follows
  • Revenue is expected to be $8.10 billion vs. $8.44B consensus, plus or minus 2%. This includes an estimated reduction of approximately $500 million relating to Russia and the COVID lockdowns in China.
  • GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins are expected to be 65.1% and 67.1%, respectively, plus or minus 50 basis points.

As expected. The high prices mostly went to already rhich peoples pockets and not really all based in reality of the shortage just using it to raise prices.

Same with gas or energy in general right now. Prices go up because of the inflation meme so now everyone raises them regardless if it is actually needed as they can get away with it under the name of inflation.
