nvidia 15.23 nforce drivers

Ok - I had heard about the crackling problem before with nForce mobo's and the X-fi or other high end sound card, but previously I had only experienced it with maybe one or two demo programs; I upgraded to 15.23 and now it occurs constantly whether I listen to music or play any game.

Does anybody have a link to some of the old nforce drivers for vista 64-bit or know of a fix? I tried the fixes listed on various websites such as tuning nhancer (didn't work), running memory in dual channel mode (didn't work), basically the only thing that stops it is turning off SLI mode which I do not like to do.

Try here ,btw I installed the new 15.23 drivers today on my Vista x64 nforce 4 ultra board and after reboot it messed up my ATI CAT8.11 drivers, thankyou Nvidia for that, anyway I reinstalled my CAT 8.11s and they seem ok so far,so this is just a warning if you do install the 15.23s.

Generally its a good idea anytime you are installing / reinstalling system drivers to uninstall your video card graphics driver (and other hardware devices) prior to reinstalling the chipset drivers.

Then reinstall the device specific drivers afterwards.

This applies to any platform drivers (AMD, Intel, nVidia) and is not an nVidia specific issue.

Yeah I did this, but the crackle is still there in SLI mode. I was reading on some other forums that it's an issue with the latest nForce driver set. I'm debating whether I should bother installing anything off of the nForce utilities other than the Ethernet driver. I love the xfi sound card and it's aggravating to choose between SLI and having sound that doesn't snap crackle pop fizz fizz constantly. I suppose I could remove the Xfi entirely and work off of the motherboard sound, but then I would lose out on the music listening features. ARGH - damn you Nvidia!

Interference from your SLI cards maybe?...You could try moving your X-FI card to a different slot ie further away see if that helps at all.

From what Creative states on their website, it's an issue with nforce motherboards that are running SLI along with a high end sound card, whether it's the X-fi or something else. I recently had my motherboard replaced which is why I updated the drivers; I'll just roll them back and see if it helps.
