Nvidia 12.41 drivers

Has anyone installed the 12.41 drivers? or the 12.60? the 12.60 is the newer one or am I mistaken on that? Oh well.. I was just wondering, because I've been having REALLY bad problems when I installed the new drivers, so I went back to the old detonator driver that I had downloaded a few months ago and it's working great again. I just wanted to see what the fuss over the new drivers were about, I decided to try it out, but alas, it sucketh big time.. for me anyway.. anyone else have comments on them?

I am running 12.41's and they're doing great. Although 12.60 are newer 12.41 is an 'official' release, not one of the leaked beta's

Gee 12.60 is out??? Hm... I only remember 12.41 official only came out a few weeks ago... Feels like yesterday to me though. Well I installed 12.41 for my GeforceDDR works fine.

I installed them when they became official(12.41),no problems with games or anything else,I was using the official 6.50 drivers before ,anyway I too have a GF2MX card,I play lots of CS,UT,TFC & even old games etc so they are very good on stability IMHO infact 100% so far 😉.

On my GeForce DDR, the 12.41's from Nvidia's site would not work with Microsoft Midtown Madness 2. So I switched back to 6.5 with no problems.

Just a question for you. Before you installed the 12.41's, did you go into the Control Panel and change your adapter to "Standard VGA" and reboot? This is an important step. By doing this, you are, in effect, uninstalling the old drivers. THis way, when you reboot and install the new drivers, it's a clean install. I've found that by doing this, I don't get any errors or problems. In the past, I have just installed one set right over another, netting very mixed results. Sometimes it would just be lower FPS/lower 3DM scores, but sometimes I'd get display anamolies and things like that.

So far,the 12.41 WHQL drivers have been the best, most stable set for me. I have a GF2GTS 32mb card. Work great for me.

The nvidia uninstall entry in the control panel add/remove programs does a great job of removing drivers. In the old days I used to switch to standard vga first, but now I just uninstall nvidia drivers and upon rebooting I just point to the new ones when asked. Simple.

Not sure what you mean. If you uninstall, they are deleted as part of the next reboot process. The Windows will look for new drivers and you point it to the right directory.

When i installed the vid card i loaded the newest drivers from the Hercules web site. When i install the nVidia 12.41 drivers, are they now my Vid card drivers? not the Hercules?

thanks
