Nvidea 6800 Ultra Driver Question, Please Help

I have a Nvidea 256MB 6800 Ultra video card and I'm trying to select the latest driver. How can I tell if I need the 32 bit or 64 bit driver? Is the 64 in my CPU a clue? Any help would be appreciated as well as a driver recommendation.

System:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1 GB RAM
video card above
Sound Blaster 2zS Audigy Sound Card

Sincerely,
Hans Groenewold

What he said. ^

The 64 is for windows 64, not meaning the CPU.

OK, I fess up, how can I tell if I have 32 or 64 bit?. Obviously I'm not as experienced as you guys. I'm not a dummy either so if you can just point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Last night, I downloaded what was supposed to be the latest driver from Nvidea, the 78.01 and all my games play slow and stutter now. Thanks.

You would know if you had 64bit or 32bit. You most likely have 32bit. Most likely since you updated your drivers, Vsync is enabled which causes your games to run slower. Go into your display properties and disable Vsync then try again. I would recommend the Tweaksrus 81.82 drivers over those.

Thanks for the help I appreciate it. I'd still like to know if I have 32 or 64 bit, how can I tell? Would SiSoft Sandra be able to tell me or run DxDiag? Thanks.

Sincerely,
Hans

If you get the properties of "My Computer" I think it will say if you have the 64 bit version of Windows. If you don't know which version you have it's more than likely you have the 32 bit version.

I looked where you suggested but it doesn't say. I ordered this PC early this year as a gaming PC and it was pretty high end at the time. Any other idea where I can find this info?

ASUS 8AV Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Nvidea 6800 Ultra 256 MB video card
Sound Blaster Audigy 2Zs sound card
1 GB RAM

If it doesn't say then you're probably running 32 bit. It's almost impossible to be accidently running the 64 bit version so if you don't know what you're running chances are you're not on 64 bit.
