Anyone using it? I've been experimenting with it lately and have been really impressed with the results. Games that run better without SLI performance mode, or games that do not even support SLI look great using it. Rage, L.A. Noire, Skyrim, and Dead Island look fantastic.

Here's a few shots I took of Rage a while back using SLI 24X and SLI 8X TrSSAA. This is with 3-way GTX 580s, so it's essentially 8X MSAA x 3 and 4X TrSSAA x 2. The one downside is that it has high GPU usage even with vsync enabled.

Is it best to "Override Application" or "Enhance the Application" when using SLI AA? Also, if you use "enhance" mode, does it use the setting from nvidia control panel or does it only multiply the setting you put in the game (say you have the game set to 4xAA does that mean in "enhance the application" mode its now doing 8xAA for dual SLI or is it using the setting from the control panel?

To me, the reason why nVidia offered SLi-AA again was the participation of the community and one Focus Member that sadly passed away named Chris Ray.

Chris Ray tried to get nVidia to include them again and basically nVidia said, see what the community thinks and if there is enough vocal support and reasoning, we may include them.

You can use use "Enhance the Application Settings" in Rage to enable SLI AA. I have the in game setting set to 8X and have "Enhance the Application Settings" set in the Nvidia control panel with the AA option set to SLI 24X and the transparency AA setting set to SLI 8X. This is the way I use it. I think it will work with override too when you have AA in the game off or at any setting.

For L.A. Noire and others I have to use the correct MSAA anti-aliasing flag set through Nvidia Inspector and then use the override option to set the SLI AA mode. SLI AA will work with pure super sampling AA modes too, but the performance hit is huge and memory usage goes through the roof.

I've been using it for over a year already. I always use override settings. All the old games I play from time to time get 32XQ with SLI AA enabled. I use Nvidia Inspector rather than the control panel. It's insane playing Underground 2 with widescreen and SLI AA when I played it at 1280x1024 when it came out. I used to use combined modes but occasionally it led to bluriness and it usually needs a AA compatibility code. SLI AA doesn't seem to need it.

Lack of jaggies looks nice, but many are those textures in that game awful looking.

Yeah, rage is an odd game. It looks beautiful and horrible at the same time - stuff looks great at a distance but then you see how horrible textures are up close. Ugh.

Too bad id software jumped shark. They really should have taken the dice approach with building on the PC and making incremenetal versions on the consoles.....in the meantime, id software is now dead to me. Once a great company, no more though.

L.A. Noire. AA compatability flag 0x004000C0. 12X SLI AA (4X x 3) + 8X SLI TrSSAA (4X x 2). Runs better than the force SLI performance compatability flag and looks much much better.

Adam, do you have the steam version of LA noire? Have you found a way around the 30 fps hardcap?

I have the retail DVD version. The hack doesn't work with it. It seems like the 60 FPS hack works with the pirated version of the game. It's a shame the developer works with pirated versions. Even at a 30 FPS cap, the game plays very smooth. Feels like 60 FPS.
