I'm trying to change the number of straps (pipes) in my video bios . I can get to it in DOS but I cant figure out the code..heres the command line:

nvflash --straps <number>

then it says this about the number:
AND Mask 0 OR Mask 0 AND Mask 1 OR Mask 1

Do you have a vanilla 6800?
Because I heard that the card can't really unlock its pipes, that only a few people (a few percent of those that tried) could get it to work. This was according to the guru3d forums I was browsing.

Yeah I got a BFG 6800. I tried the soft mod and it won't work on their vanilla 6800's. So my next shot is the hard mod via the straps. I already tried the GT and the Ultra bios and they wont work with my gpu ( thats what NVFlash says)...

uhh.. "straps" is a technical term for hard-wired jumpers. It doesn't mean pipelines.
"hard" straps are those 0-ohm SMT resistors/jumpers soldered on or near the GPU core, to enable/disable features/configurations in hardware.
"soft" straps are similar, but they are chipset settings that are AFAIK programmed at boot time by the BIOS.

Yeah thats what I was thinking about the pipes:)

I know that anit the pipes themself, I was thinking that I could enable them via the hard straps.
