I've been having a problem lately where I'm playing a game and then a blue error screen comes up quickly and says something like "error with nvdisp.dll" and also "dumping physical memory in xx seconds..." and it started counting up the seconds.
It said that Windows had been shut down to prevent damage, but I shut down the computer quickly b/c I have not seen any type of error like this before. I've had this happen twice in my "Axis and Allies" game, both in large 4v4 multiplayer games. The error name sounds as if it is a video driver problem, but of course that doesn't make sense b/c then it would screw up in 1v1s, 2v2s, etc. I installed a new motherboard in my system a few days ago -- the Abit Nf7-S2 -- b/c my old Abit KD7A was dying out , but everything seemed to be working fine on the new board before this started. My full specs:
AMD Barton 2500+ 333FSB @ 2.2Ghz 400mhz FSB
Abit Nf7-S2 V1.2
OCZ Value VX 2.5-3-3-8 @ 400/2.6V (default setting for the memory)
BFG Geforce FX5900 Vanilla
Maxtor 40GB IDE 7200RPM HDD
Windows XP Pro
The OCZ VX is also new to the system, as I was running some 512MB Simpletech @ 333mhz before on my old board.
Not sure how to solve this problem.
