Nvdia NF4 and home network

i have set up a basic home network and for some reason when i use the nvidia ethernet (on my a8n-sli deluxe) i cant see the other computers on my network. however, when i switch over to the marvell ethernet port, everything works fine. Is there something in the nvidia port that i need to disable or enable to get it working correctly?
 
I had a friend who had this problem, but as it turns out, it was FaD that was causing the problem. see if there are any conflicts in the software configuration, and check device manager for any resource conflicts, although I doubt that is the case.
