Hi all

Just wondering if there would be a performance hit or other problems if I ran my 8800 GTS on a mobo that is designed for Crossfire? I was thinking of the Asus P5E3K Deluxe board.

Thanks

There?re a lot of people out there that use nVidia cards on crossfire mobos. Your card should perform as supposed to.

Anand actually investigated this a while ago, I think. There's no disadvantage, if you buy a high end Nvidia mobo and video card there are some optimizations to be had but you should be fine.

The 2 most notable optimizations found in 680 boards are linkboost and robust graphics booster. Linkboost would offer a 1 to 2% increase in graphics performance when running SLI but was removed as a feature from the 680 chipset with the replacement of the original MCP55PXE southbridge with the older MCP55P. The robust graphics booster is a BIOS feature that can make the PCI-e x16 run @125 Mhz with a good quality nVidia graphics board but that's about it.
