nv4_disp went into infinite loop

A blue screen comes up on my computer saying the Nv4_disp has gone into an infinite loop -- this is after it has been running fine for about a year now. So I tried upgrading drivers and what not for my video card (a nvidia ti200) and even my motherboard but nothing has worked. I can get it to boot up and stuff but the screen is all messed up and it crashes a lot.

What do you think is causing this? The video card or something else?

thanks for looking man..

i have come to the conclusion that just the card itself has gone bad. Reinstalling windows didn't help and even the text during boot up started looking all screwy.

Hey, it's doing the same thing my brand new (refurbished 🙂 ) geforce 6800 is doing. When the boot-up screen is screwy, then there must be something wrong with the card.. Maybe we should get us some ATI replacements 😉

Same problem here. The horrible bluescreen appears saying nv4_disp went into infinite loop. But i suppose RAM has something to do with it. After i have increased my RAM it has occurred only twice but before that it occurred twice or thrice a day. Another thing that may reduce the problem is to decrease the max frames to render ahead to 1 or 2.But I havent found any specific solution to this problem.
