two weeks until 9800xt vs nv38 benchis (if it isn't a paperlaunch). We expect the official launch date of Mr NV38 to be October 10th
This is correct. I can't hear my stock 9800P anyway, so it's kind of a moot point. You have 2 cards you can't hear.Yeah, it might be quieter, but it uses 2 slots (try using a SFF PC). You can get a Zalman HS and founda low rpm very quiet fan on it, and have better cooling, and there you have a Radeon with quieter and better cooling (than stock).

I would really like it if either nVidia or ATI made a joke of this numbering system, and made a card called the GeForce FX 94,000,000,000 Ultimate Super Duper ... or the Radeon 128,000,000,000 Super Fantastic Pro.

Meanwhile, the NV36 chip is a completely redesigned babe, and NVDA has high hopes this one will be a runner.

God who cares about using a PCI slot?
On my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe I have 5 count them 5 free PCI slots. I dont use any of them......and if I did I can use one of the other 4 open slots.

I kind of like the 2 slot idea. I like exhausting the video card heat out of the back of the case instead of just blowing it back inside. As long as it is quiet, its a good idea.
