NV35 pushed back to fall???

I read at Beyond3D that the NV 35 was being pushed back till the fall of this year. How accurate is this?? I have seen on other sights saying it will be release in May.

I just read that Beyond3d stuff.

Sounds like a slight delay...with NV35 coming in the summer which could mean June/July. And the FALL refresh coming out later this year.

In any case....I strongly doubt it coming out next month.

Hmmmm......well Nvidia needs to come out with something soon. I am upgrading to a Canterwood with a 2.8ghz and 1 gig of Corsair XMS PC3200LL next month and I will need a good vidcard to go with it. I would prefer to stay with Nvidia, because I trust their drivers more than I do ATI, but it I have toI will get a 9800 pro. Or I could just get a Ti4200/4600 to tide me over untill something better comes.

Nvidia has never officially announced anything to the public about the NV35's existence, much less a possible release date. So any date was just speculation. This isn't like NV30, which was/is still delayed after the official paper launch.

it wouldn't surprise me after the nv30 delays.

i hope it comes out soon tho...the sooner the better, for us consumers anyway.

i'm personally disappointed in the radeon 9800 performance, i don't think it's much of a step beyond the 9700. we need nvidia to pick up the slack and release something competitive in the performance sector.

That's great and all, but how would you feel if Intel showed off a future Prescott based P4 running at 1.6Ghz?

With the news of Nvidia tapping IBM to produce chips, I wonder if that is going to delay the release of the NV35. Maybe TSMC cannot get the chips up to speed....who knows?

Several reputable sources such as B3D, Anand, and a few nVidia execs have said nVidia isn't going to say much about NV35 until its ready for launch; they're not going to make the same mistakes they made with NV30 and are taking every precaution to avoid a similar situation. The "leaked" NV35 demonstration from CeBit was an effort to calm OEMs, AIB makers, and industry news sources that NV30's disappointment wasn't going to affect nVidia's competitive position in the market.

I expect them to err on the side of caution, which is the smart move given NV30's delays and TSMC's .13 woes. There's no doubt that underclocking the NV30 and running the NV35 at 250MHz was a result of instability at higher clock speeds; if TSMC has production samples but nVidia completely shifts NV35 production to IBM, then that might cause a delay. However, if TSMC ships early revisions, even if clocked lower than 300-400MHz with an IBM refresh a few months later, May wouldn't be an unrealistic expectation.

I might just as have to go with a 9800 pro. I too am not impressed by it, but it is the fastest out there. I will still wait till the end of May ealty June though to get something. My GF3 on a Canterwood system shouldn't that big of a bottleneck.
