As for the company?s NV30 chip, industry sources revealed that the postponed launch is due to a design change, not a yield rate problem in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company?s (TSMC) 0.13-micron process as market rumors suggested. Hoping to enhance the product?s overall performance to compete with ATI?s top-end Radeon 9700 PRO, the sources suggested that Nvidia may alter its original six-pipeline architecture to an eight-pipeline one.
Completely false 🙂

Take care,

it may be false but it would still be interesting.

it may be false but it would still be interesting.

It would also be interesting if Britney Spears came over to my house and Overclocked my Ram but I don't think that's happening either so I'll have to keep overclocking my own Ram...

Does overclocking one's own Ram cause hair to grow on their palms? or make them go blind?

nah, that was only something your puritanical grandparents said to keep you from overclocking your ram.

"Leave your Ram stock and overclock your Ewe", my grampy used to say . . . but then HE had hairy palms.

😀

How'd this thread get so silly?

BFG10K, I think you're entirely forgetting how massive those quad texture pipes are.
Quad texture pipes was only a speculation on my part. However I'm almost certain that the NV30 will have dual TMUs per pipe which will still be enough to beat the 9700 in texel fillrate.

Regarding your comments about the Parhelia in the PM, the Parehelia loses out because of a low clock speed, a lack of real HSR and a poor triangle setup engine. The NV30 is unlikely to have such design flaws plus going by past history, raw paper specs will be enough for us to make a reasonable performance estimate about the card.
