I just saw on the net that the NV20 will be announced formally on Feb 26th...
also i've found the new Detonator 10.50 and they are dated in th future...
The Det1050s give a substantial increase to existing cards and include several new features...

If you put 1 and 1 and 1 together you get 42 ... or a cup of cold tea, which ever you prefer

I'd be willing to bet $10 that the NV20 is gonna come out on 4/2/2001 (the date on the 1050s)

now you all know, before you were told... happy gaming

Actually if you read dates the way the rest of the world reads them you would read the date as. February Fourth, 2001.

Which is probably the format that they are in. People dont compile things in the future.........

Besides the release date has already been discussed :)

I believe its a 4 day roll out all over again. Only time will tell.

Why exactly are we supposed to be excited about a $600 video card?

Oh right.. so we can get GTS Ultras for $200 ;)

Well, that's not definately NOT true. Here in Switzerland, and other countries we read the February Fourth as 4/2/2001 4th February, 2001. But who cares.... I'm not willing to spend 600$ for a video card, if it comes out on 4/2/2001 or 2/4/2001 ;)

Must say that I've been a bit more excited about NV20 since both Sweeny and Carmack have said it will be something truely new.
Or as Sweeny said "NV20, it will change everything" :)

Oh and here in Sweden we use DD-MM-YYYY, somehow sorting it in some sort of order sounds more logical to me ;)

ndee how about most countries use that format :)

The US is the only country I've been to (which I actually live in now) that uses that date format. I've given up I just write the date with the format of the first three letters of the month.

if it kicks ass, my system will have one b4 i go to korea

but for $550 or whatever, it had better fix the "issues" i have with the GTS completely, and be more than just a speed hike.

If it's 2d isn't outstanding, I don't see why in god's name I should buy one.

Even the Geforce 2 GTS was basically a turbo Geforce.

I'll be interested to see if the Geforce 3 is something new. If it is, and is nice and fast i'll buy one.

If its simply a Geforce 2 Ultra Ultra then i don't think i'll bother.

IMO it would be a good idea if everyone used the new ISO standard for dates, YYYY-MM-DD. It's 2001-04-02 or 2001-02-04. Sounds silly, but makes sorting by date so much easier :)

I'm confident that NV20 is going to lift hardware 3D acceleration to a whole new level with it's full DX8 feature support. For consumers's sake I wish ATI and Matrox hurry with their upcoming 100% DX8-complicant chip architectures.
