ok i have a pIII 800 but damn it i dont have an agp slot so i have a problem!!!!! i could go out now and get a pci gforce2 mx creative or inno3d.... or i could wait it out and see if the nv20 will be offered in pci which i hope??? i know i should go with the v5500 pci but it wont be supported and i dont wana take chances... So do you guys think or have heard of the nv20 being produced in pci format...?? i read somewhere that the nv20 will have support for pci but its a matter of the 3d companies to make the pci version>>..

I doubt there will be a PCI version of the NV20. It would slow down this 'beast' too much. Go for a GF2MX...

If you wait for nv20 mx you will probably have to wait for the nv20 refresh part and that will take over 6 months.

I highly doubt that we'll see a PCI NV20, if we do it will be an MX-type thing, and will probably take quite a while. If you have to have a new card RIGHT NOW, I would say go with the MX, just because you know you'll keep getting support and driver updates.

EDIT: Or else just get a new motherboard and an AGP card :)

my mother board is the intel 810 ....i guess i whould go with the MX which one should i go for though???? currently here in canada the creative one is readely avalable but its really hard to find other cards such as the inno3d and the winfast, btw the winfast was reviewed on a web site in pci format but on the winfast web site there is no mention of a pci version.... the inno3d is like 150 us and will end up costing well over 200 canadain once i actually get it, but it will offer tv out which i really want... What do you guys think of the creative product is it any good......finally if i was to upgrade to an agp motherboard i would have to go through dell which will cost me alot and i may loose the warentee is it relly worth upgreading the motherboard on a PIII 800 ......or to hell with it and just wait and see if the nv20 will offfer a pci version caz i would fell like an ass it the nv20 does come out in pci and even if there is a performance dropp compaired to the agp it will still be faster then the MX but at the same time it will cost a hell of a lot more.... or just wait till the mx drops in price...... what is a guy to do..<>,.,l<.,:L< P.S any of you canadians know where i can get a pci mx card in toronto eg the inno3d??

romtech: I feel the Canadian pain, I really, really do :) I think that you're gonig to have a very hard time finding the Inno3D and Winfast cards up here, if at all. I would just go with the Creative. It's cheap, it's easy, and it will blow the hell out of your integrated graphics on that i810 board. In the end, if the NV20 does come out in PCI, you could pick yourself up one of those, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you, because the NV20 is still a ways off, and there's no information that there will be a PCI version, and even if there is, it will be a while before it comes out, and even longer until it comes up here to the Great White Frozen North.

There's virtually no chance that the NV20 will come in a PCI flavour. I highly doubt that even an NV20 MX (if there's such a thing) will come in a PCI variant.

i would get a v5-5500 PCI. that 800 MHz PIII would work really well with the v5. i wouldn't worry about the lack of support. the drivers are really stable, and by the time their are games that wouldn't work with it, you wouldn't want to be running an 800 Mhz system with a V5 speed video card anyway.

Why wouldn't it come in PCI? didn't they just jump into apples systems with a deal?
