NV Silencer rev 2

Installed the NV Silencer on my 6800 GT tonight. Installation went pretty much according to instructions, except that they have replaced the tube of thermal paste with a pre-placed pad for the GPU, and don't mention this in the instructions. I spent about ten minutes looking around the floor under my desk for the damn tube.

Seems to have taken about 10 deg. c off the idle temps. Much quieter.

lol never found that tube ehh? Nice rig Mark....I'm getting my rev 2 tomorrow as my rev 1 whines at all speeds. Last component I need to completely silence my rig 🙂

I really hope to hell there was no tube 🙂.

Another side effect is a cooler case over all. The X2 4400 is idling at 32 deg. c. That's about 4-5 deg. C less than previously.

Now I get to play with clock speed this weekend.

Thats the sole reason I use it over the VF700. The NV5 gave me a little bump in clockspeeds, but what really does it is a new bios flash/volt mod. Enjoy!!

Much cooler under load. Played BF2 for 30 mins or so. Peak temp dropped from 82 deg. C before the Silencer to 64 deg. C after.

I'm a happy camper.
