NV Silencer and 6800 Ultra

I was wondering, how exactly does the NV5 work with an ultra since the ultra is a 2 slot cover.

Seems like you would have to do some cutting or something to get it to work. Anyhow, i ordered one and now that it is shipping, i am wondering how im going to get it on there...lol

you have to remove the metal PCI bracket, and replace it with one that Arctic Cooling provides you with. it comes with the NV5.

honestly, i would get that over the NV5. its just as quiet and provides better cooling performance. but, it dosnt remove its own heat from the case.
NV5s have issues with coming in contact with all of the ram chips, gpu, etc.

Yup, get the zalman over the NV5. I have had both and the Zalman cools better and is only 18 dba @5 volts.

Im afraid i already ordered the NV5, as i said in my first post.

I'll be using ASC on the RAM and core, the mosfets have ASC already on them.

I keep readin that the NV5 doesnt come with the plate to work with the ultra, i'm hoping this is wrong.

NV5 comes with 2 single brackets. You will remove the double-bracket from your card, install the proper bracket from NV5 on the card and install. Then, you can use the other single bracket that came with NV5 on the PCI slot or just leave it completely open.
