Tested on the Chaintech AA6800GT.
The improvement in noise level with the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 is totally dramatic even run straight off the video card fan header, although plugging it into the Zalman Fanmate1 voltage controller makes for an even better result. Interestingly, even with the Fammate1 set to minimum(5V), the cooling performance of the AC NV Silencer 5 is always better than the stock solution.

Yeah there are some un-informed people on here claiming its garbage,

But I have used a Silencer on both my 9800pro and my new 6800gt, its very easy to put on and it is a fantastic ALT to the stock solution.

It provides better cooling, paired up with some AS5 & it is ultra silent.

I recommend.

I had bad luck putting a NVS on my Ultra. It never sat right on my card so I actually saw worse tempatures than the stock cooler. After reinstalling it the 2nd time, I snapped the mount pole on the NVS. Piece of sh!t...

Anyways, others have had much better luck than me. I found that after reinstalling the stock cooler and applying some AS5, I got much better temps. Texas weather still cooks my system, but I was able to see some difference just messing around with the stock cooler.
