Hello all,
This is simply a public service announcement that if you plan on running SLI with 2 6800 series vid cards, do not buy the nv silencer 5 rev 2 (or any revision) coolers for them. Unfortunately their drawing on their website is incorrect when determining the height parameters of the cooler. Unfortunately, the fan from the top card's cooler will protrude out of its housing and make contact with the board on the bottom. The only way this is avoided is if the 2 16x pcie slots have more than one standard pci slot between them, i.e. if you own an ASUS SLI board you are OK. For the rest of us, we are screwed. I and two other members over at DFI street have e-mailed them about this and they have not responded. It seems a shame that they couldn't figure this out, given that this is a rev2 card and the majority of people willing to spend that much money on cards and coolers probably want to run SLI mode.
