Hmm ... I seem to remember another time when "competition was good" ... towards the end of the 3dfx reign ... yeah. 🙂

I also remember when "competition was bad" ... around the Voodoo II time-period ... hmm ...

I recall another time when "competition was good" ... just a few months ago with the "dustbuster" ... er ...

Perhaps it's the actual products that make a company good/bad instead of the competition? 🙂

PS -- Don't think of this as thread-crapping, I'm just having some fun with your reference to competition. With regards to the NV News site owner switching to ATI, all I can say is he finally found the light ... 😉

OK, OK, seriously though. I'm glad that he had the nerve to go with something "against" what would be expected, try something new, love it, and have the nerve to publicly talk about it. Good for him.

heheh, the last thing tht we need is ATi becoming another Microsoft.

Imagine this: computers, TVs, even touch screen devices and HUDs in fighters are ATi powered. yiiiiiiiiiiii

competition itself might not be the drive after technology, bu it definetly has a great amount of influence on the price. Ati cant dare to have a smiliar product priced higher than nVidia and vice versa, when 2 companies are fighting for a market, the consumer wins.

a great video card is a great video card (it doesnt matter who makes it)

personally i prefer nvidia stuff, but i loved my kyro2 back in the day. and i also like the new radeon's 😛

are sapphire radeons decent quality? i remember back in the 8500 days when everyone kept saying to buy only cards made by ATi itself....

from another administrator there
I can bare witness, I jst received the 128mb vers, and it is indeed a beast

Funny how roles reverse so quickly. Seems like yesterday Nvidia was the company everyone loved and backed.

I need to get me one of these Radeons 🙂

4 GeForces in a row, 7 Nvidias in a row.

Interesting quote:
It was strange removing the NV35 as the Radeon 9800 Pro is the first non-NVIDIA graphics card that I've used in 5 years. But now that nV News is attracting visitors that are interested in ATI products, I though this would be a good move for us.
Mad props to him 😀
