It expancs aroudn the cervix, the hormones are the same, the risks are the same and the side effects are the same as a reular pill.

No it doesn't. You twist it, push it in, and the ring tries to expand. It is held in place by the vaginal walls. And the side effects are slightly less because the hormones aren't making a path through your digestive system, they are being directly absorbed by the vagina.
