Nutrition wise, is there much difference between Spaghetti and Bread?

JEDI

Lifer
I'm making my own bread:
enriched flour
oil
yeast
a little sugar (for the yeast to work)

i usually eat spaghetti with olive oil.

is there much difference nutrionally between my bread and eating spaghetti plain?

what kind of bread ? there may be a large diffrence of about 40 points on the glycemic scale between certain breads and the much safer pasta.

I'm not a fan of either since they're loaded with white flour. I instead either:

-Make my own whole wheat bread
-Buy whole wheat pasta

Not only do I like the taste better, whole grains are a lot healthier.

It's not that white bread/flour is bad for you. It's just that they removed the part that has any nutrition. White bread is basically the food version of water, with some carbs added in.

Right, except white flour is loaded with calories that don't give much health benefit. If I'm going to be eating all those calories I'd prefer to have some whole grain.
