Nutrition/food question

Ok, so we eat for nutrients right? Why couldn't we just take a multivitamin a few times a day instead of eat? Do we need the physical mass of food?

Like I said in the title, I'm probably just an idiot, but I honestly don't know the answer to my question.

Any "easy way" to satisfy the 5 servings of vegetables a day? Looking at my diet, I don't think I eat vegetables at all (cereal, turkey sandwich, more meat, fish, rice, bread, etc.) I feel like just buying those vegetable drinks from 7-11 and drinking them...

Suggestions? 🙂

Canned green beans, they rock.

You need protein, fats and carbs..those are in the "physical mass" of the food you eat.

Is it possible to put these into vitamin form?

Yeah, sure. That vitamin would be known as a Deluxe Burger.

Heh, well I meant a normal sized vitamin 😛

Then, no.

You have two main categories for nutrition: Micro-nutrients and Macro-nutrients.

Micro-nutrients = Vitamins and Minerals

Macro-nutrients = Fat, Carbohydrates and Protein

The body will not sustain on micro-nutrients. You must eat macro-nutrients and eat balanced amounts. For me, it around 40% Carbs and Protein and around 20% Fat.

You must acquire your macro-nutrients from GOOD, CLEAN SOURCES.

A tip I tell people is to shop from the outside wall of the grocery store. The majority of grocery stores are setup with the fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, breads on the outside wall of the store with all of the pre-packaged junk in the aisles of the store. Now, there are a few exceptions (oats, whole grain crackers), but you understand my general idea.

You can also hit the bakery this way 😀~

Yes, you can. I forgot to mention that. Buy your bread from the stores bakery. Typically, they will use normal ingredients to make their breads instead of using HFCS and other junk for stability and long-shelf life.

The pre-packaged bread are garbage. Even if they say, "whole grain" on the label, they are using the bare minimum whole grains to qualify using the term on the packaging. The rest of the ingredients will be cheap flour, HFCS and fillers.

Of course, a pastry or two won't hurt now and then! 😉

(More ignorance from me)

Has science now found a way to condense the macro nutrients?

Sure, stick your cheeseburger under a 50 ton press and swallow the result

Of course, it will probably be too dense and hard for the body to digest and it will just come out looking the same way it did going in. 😉

No. And you need bulk (fiber) for colorectal health.
