Virginia nurse charged with child abuse after NICU babies were found with unexplained injuries

Police in Virginia arrested a NICU nurse at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, charging the woman with felony counts of malicious wounding and child abuse after several babies had unexplained injuries.

~Police in central Virginia arrested a NICU nurse at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, charging the woman with felony counts of malicious wounding and child abuse after several babies were found to have unexplained injuries.

This comes one week after the hospital announced it was temporarily stopping admissions to the neonatal intensive care unit after three babies were found to have unexplained fractures in late November and December.

Erin Strotman was taken into custody Thursday and booked at Henrico Jail West early Friday morning.~

Isn’t the real question how much pain must a person be feeling to hurt tiny babies? Isn’t it so much they can’t feel anything?

I wonder how many clues others around her might have missed this person needed help herself and should never have been around the helpless.

I wonder if that nurse actually thought about murdering those babies seeing as if it's a small step away from injuring them. And what's still to be determined is what other forms of abuse that nurse may have committed on those babies considering how heinous it was to fracture their bones to begin with.

I smell an insanity plea warming up in the defense attorney's bullpen.

You start by hurting, and if you get away with it long enough, then you start the murdering.

You can see it everywhere in human society. It's felt like 3 years, but it's only been about 2 months of President-Elect Musk and his hanger-on Trump. We're just two short weeks away from the Musk Presidency proper.

In a statement Tuesday, Henrico police refuted theories shared on social media that all the infants targeted were Black.

“The preliminary investigation indicates this information is not factual,” police said. Hackey agrees.

“The children were different races, and there were twins and singletons,” he said. “There was no real methodology there that we can put together. The only thing they have in common is that they are all boys.”
