It used to only happen while i was driving, but now its becoming more constant. Its kinda a dull pain throughout my whole arm, with occational sore spots roughly 1-2 inches above my elbow near my tricep, and on the inside forarm... My first guess is Carpel Tunnel, but i have no idea...

I've had it for a month or two but its starting to happen much more frequently, to the point i was swinging my arm while walking through Sawgrass Mills Mall today to keep it from aching. Anyone ever had this before, any suggestions? BTW, im calling my doctor first thing in the morning to scheduele an appointment, but i wanted to see if anyone around here has this...

*** UPDATE***

Sorry for the delay, but i was up in NYC for the long weekend. So i went to my doctor last wednesday and had some x-rays done that afternoon. The x-rays came back with no signs of a herniated disc in my back, but there was some unusual straightening of my neck. Doctor thinks its a pinched nerve in my shoulder/neck area, specifically the nerve that travels down my arm and into my fingers (as tapping them with that hammer thingy caused some interesting tingling). She also suggested that more than likely this is related to the pretty rough whiplash i had 2 years ago when my car got mauled by an F150.

So, as for treatments, Im now on Cyclobenzaprine (Muscle Relaxant) and Vioxx (Anti-Inflammatory) to help keep it under control. She also reccomended (much to my delight) that i go to a massage therapist and possibly physical therapy if conditions dont improve in the next 3 weeks....

The only problem im having with this is the possible interruption of my workout routine. Not exactally sure which excersizes & routines will put the mimimun amount of strain on the region....

Anyway, thanks for the help guys, i'll let ya know how i progress.

Carpal tunnel is good guess. Are you left or right handed? I use the mouse with my right hand and have had problems with my right wrist and lower arm.

Uh, silly question, but sometimes....

When driving do you tend to have the window down and the elbow area of your arm resting on top of the doorframe instead of the armrest or holding it up? I drive a small car and do that since the armrest position is out of position for someone my size. Over time I've learned to force myself to move my arm after getting a sore elbow after long drives in the past.

Just wondering since you said you first noticed it while driving. And timeing fits since it's gotten warm, window down time. Worth an ask. :)

I had similar symtoms only in my right arm. I had put my arm in certain positions to ride in a car etc. It turned out to be herniated discs in my neck. I would be wise to get it checked out.

Sounds bad.... How do they go about diagnosing that? Fixing it? How are you doing today?

Welp i just found this site (http://familydoctor.org/handouts/341.html)

I dont have any pain in my legs, but this part is sure as hell true...

"People with painful herniated disks often try to change positions to reduce the pain. You may have found that holding yourself up with your hands while you are sitting helps the pain. Shifting your weight to one side may also help."

instead of your left hand .. switch over to your right hand.

i'm sure it'll take some getting use to but in the end it'll just be the same ;)

possible poor circulation ?

Aphex, that post wasn't intended solely for you. You're smart enough to see a doc; many folks here aren't.

You just happened to be the person who gave me the opportunity to vent. Some ATOT'ers would rely on the community here to perform their appendectomy, divorce, real estate transactions, and IRA managment.

Be sure to mention to your doctor that you suspect angina pectoris. Sometimes doctors have bad days and you don't want her to misdiagnose this one. Good Luck.
