Been using Computers since the mid 80's but never put one together till this past week. Could really use some advice on the numbers. Have a mobo with a lot of capability, more than I pocess. Am very aware that increased capability can lead to increased screw-ups.
Considering the system and my experience level (low) what would be stable numbers for voltages and temperature? Am using PC Probe II and SpeedFan for levels. Bios set to defaults and shows cpu/mb to be 40c/28c . VCore is at 1.35v. Thing is that the BIOS, PC Probe and SpeedFan all give different numbers. Sometimes a little, sometimes more than a little difference. Not only that but, I'm not sure of where they should be and if they're interrelated. (Voltage to voltage and voltage to temp) What's safe??
Is there reliable software that I can depend on for information on internals?? Have more questions about temps and voltages than I could ask anyone to take time to answer. Reliable info will go a long way towards my peice of mind for now.
Maybe a link or two to a primer with do's and don'ts for the rest.
Thanks in advance,
Don
