Without the volume license Windows XP allows (legally) up to 5 computers on a network,is that correct?

Second question,does that apply to both OEM and Retail versions?

Legally you can have as many as you want in a network of PC's, provided each PC has its own license, be it OEM, Retail or a legit upgrade.

XP Pro can have only 10 connections to it from other PC's (as in shared folders or printers), I believe XP Home can only have 5 connections.

So theoretically i can connect as many computers (each with its own license) as my router can handle? Let say i have 6 computers all with XP Home installed. My workgrup's name for example is "homenet" and all six computers will connect to the same router.Now since all computers have XP Home installed there can only be 5 systems that can join "homenet" and the 6th pc is connected to the router just for internet access.

Did i get that one right?

They can all be in the same workgroup, but 1 machine can only have 5 connections to it.
connection as in shared folder, shared printer, etc

ie connecting computer 2 to computer 4's printer is 1 connection
if 3 other computers try to connect to 1 shared folder on the computer #2, youd then have 4 connections on computer 2 and only 1 more connection available to computer #2
