number of IDE devices on KT7-raid and A7V

I'm considering these two motherboards to go with an AMD T-bird 1Ghz. I was wondering if anyone knows how many total IDE devices can be used with either board. I know each have 2 ATA-66 ports and 2 ATA-100 ports... does that mean 4 or 8 total IDE devices?

So does that mean I can have 8 IDE devices at the same time? Or is it either 4 ATA100, or 4 ATA66, or 2 of each?

The KT-7 Raid can support 4 ATA100 drives on the Raid controller without being in Raid configuration and 4 ATA66 drives on the regular IDE channels bringing the total to 8 independant drives if you prefer.

I would concur with Fumiup, the ability to run upto eight devices was a major factor in purchasing an Abit over Asus. I've purchased four total, three with raid and one without and I would have to say these are the stablist boards I've used.
