Dear anandtech experts, This is my 2nd post on anandtech and wish to get help from you all 🙂

Recently I moved to a new apartment together with my 2 desktop pc and one laptop. My neighbour, which is also my friend is stay exactly below my unit (mine is 19th and he is 18th) wish to establish a network for network gaming and internet connection sharing. He has 1 desktop and 2 laptop in his house. My knowledge about networking is technology of 5 years ago where I connect my pc using 100baseT using 8 ports switch, I am not sure exactly how wireless switch(AP) work so could somebody help me please?

Thank you for your replies in advance!!

The Wireless part of a Cable/DSL Router, and or an Access Point can accommodated more then 100 computers.

Ignore the prices in the links above. The same or similar hardware can be found for 60%-90% less.

Depending on the moel, it is usually 32-64 clients on the Acess-point and 254 for the entire network.

I would not recommend heavy transfer traffic on such a network as it will bog down quickly. Then again, gaming doesn;t send a lot of info, but it requires fast response time, somethign that I cannot comment on.

Either way, for a large number of busy workstations, I would use wired.
