Number of characters in signature

Has the number been raised recently. I notice some of the sigs are longer than they used to be.
I wanna add some stuff to mine.

maybe... i just checked my characters and it came out to be something like 312 with spaces.

i still wish they would not count the code though, that stuff adds on a lot.
