nuking XP

How do I get XP off my computer without using the XP disk. I've tried booting from the XP disk and selecting the option to repair a previous installation. However, to do this it wants the administrator password for that installation and doesn't like the password i give it. I reset the admin password to make sure i knew what it was, and it still won't accept it saying it's an invalid password. Anyway, I can't get past this password step to format the computer. Is there any other way to just format it.

Depending if you used FAT32 or NTFS. If you used FAT32 just use a bootdisk and format the hard drive.

If you used NTFS on the drive. You could just boot from the XP CD and just choose a fresh install. It will give you the option of partitioning the hdd. You can also delete the partitions too. Just remember you would have to repartition hard drive again. In order to install another OS on it. Plus there is a program called Partition Magic that can also do it. There is a demo of that program but don't know how limited it is.
