The Pakistani govt is weak, corrupt & incapable of controlling their own radicals. They have a population of ~180M, only 10 of whom participated in the Mumbai attack. Blanket condemnation of Islam on the basis of that is bullshit.

Just that, sure. But it isn't just that.

In Bangladesh they go and murder bloggers who are critical of Islam. And then there are the various terrorist incidents and the denialism of the mainstream which ensures that more will occur. For instance, Pakistan released the plotter of the attack on bail. How many people has it arrested as a result of the attacks? How many ISI agents were purged?

No, they focus on putting tactical level nukes in the Kashmir region.

It's typical, but there isn't any shame or introspection going on within Islam, there never is.

Attributing the actions of radical extremists & the beloved patriot govt to the whole of Islam is utterly dishonest. It's anti-Islam propaganda.

It's not like Hindu extremists don't fan the flames, either-

The Indian taking of majority Muslim Jammu & Kashmir in the separation following WW2 will always be an issue.

Nuclear weapons? India was the first to create them.

But do go on, hatin' on the Muslims.

LOL, that is comparable to the Mumbai attacks? this is exactly what I'm talking about, no introspection, always pointing the finger to the other guys, never taking responsibility.

I didn't say it was. I said it needlessly inflamed tensions that radicals could seize upon. Hindus & the Indian govt should know better, but they don't.

"You really shouldn't exist" is probably a non-optimal place to start negotiating from.
LMAO! +1

In other news, the OP continues his descent into madness. India has been a nuclear power since before the OP was born. It's also one of the world's great nations, so that is hardly surprising. Or, to the sane, disturbing.

The radicals are a tool of the ISI in its civil war with the military. The Shrub was quite correct to give the beloved patriot government an ultimatum in the wake of 9/11.
Correct, sure, but half a century too late. We should have been wooing Soviet-leaning India all along, not propping up Pakistan.

Back on topic, it's important to understand what we're talking about-

http://arstechnica.com/the-multiver...the-unthinkable-cold-truths-of-a-nuclear-war/

With the rosier projections, there would be no survivors within a 4km radius from an air-burst one-megaton bomb over a city; all within that radius would be expected to die within minutes of the detonation. People would be severely injured for at least 18km from the center of the blast—in vast and overwhelming numbers. If one considers the effects of the resultant firestorms, it’s reasonable to expect no survivors within 10km of such a blast. (For quick reference, all of Manhattan is roughly 60 square km.)

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what 1400 warheads (even of lower yield) would do to the northern hemisphere.

Post-truth bullshit from the king of it won't change that, but it might hide the truth long enough for things to go really wrong.

That was a good article, with any luck, any nuke detonations will be limited, and the whole stockpile won't be detonated.

Holy shit! India designed, built and tested a new missile in the short time since Trump's tweet? We should seriously outsource the F-35 to those fuckers because they get shit done fast.

Shee-it, Sherlock. That's astoundingly obtuse & dismissive. MAD rules the strategic thinking of both Russia & NATO. It makes first use unthinkable. There needs to be some balance to that if we're to keep it that way while reducing stockpiles. Sane people on both sides have been working in that direction since Reagan & Gorbachev figured it out long ago.

Nobody needs Donald Trump puffing up his chest about this, not one bit.

I think not. We don't need to waste resources & neither do the Russians. We don't need fools trying to redefine nuclear war as winnable, either.

I guess the resources are a valid argument but what are we gonna do, have the capacity to blow up the planet 5 times over versus 4 times over?

More nukes, moving a perfectly good embassy and propping up billionaires to further enrich themselves really proves that Making America Great Again only applies to the top 1%.

India has had a nuclear weapons program for 50 years and actual nukes for more than 40. There is no "Now they want nukes" aspect going on here.
