India tests nuclear-capable ICBM
December 27, 2016

India successfully tested its most powerful nuclear-capable missile on Monday, according to the country's Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Defense Ministry.

The Defense Ministry said the test showed the increasing strength of the country's homemade missiles and will help as a deterrent.

"Successful test firing of Agni V makes every Indian very proud. It will add tremendous strength to our strategic defence," Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

So naturally, everybody now wants a nuke.
And those that might already have their own, now they want even more. A lot more.
The race is on!
And remember, the ass hasn't even taken office...yet.
One can only imagine after the next four years what the world will look like.
Forget about what America itself will look like, we will be but a small tiny blip on a world gone insane.

Republicans have been quite successful with creating fear throughout America.
Heck.... it was this fear which got Trump elected in the first place.
Neighbor against neighbor. Religion against religion. Color against color. Race against race.
This is why our gun sales soar.
And the very mention of common sensed gun reform drives people crazy.

And now, because and only because of one man, one president elect, this insanity is about to widen its scope.
About to engulf the entire world.
If America proceeds down the path of nuclear proliferation, then naturally Russia must follow.
Then, where exactly does that leave other nations like India and Korea?
And including every other nation on the face of the earth?
Answer?
World wide quest for nuclear proliferation.

When Trump created this mess, and from a simple tweet no less, people probably thought "well maybe no harm should the United States and the Soviet Union beaf up their nuclear arsenal. What could it hurt?"
But it never ends there, now does it....?

We may think we are the only people on the face of the earth that matter, and the Soviets may think they the only people on the face of the earth that matter, we may think that..... but
we have several billion other faces living on this earth who might think differently.
And no way will a single one of them, those billions of other faces sit quietly by while the United States and the Soviet Union engage on some hell bent nuclear proliferation insanity.
I mean seriously?

Look at it this way.
If you learned that your neighbor had begun stockpiling an arsenal of guns and assault weapons, would that not encourage you to to do the same?
Yes, no, maybe, maybe not?
Well, when it comes to nuclear proliferation affecting the rest of the world this answer is a fat big YES!

When India and countless numbers of other nations watch as the United States engage in nuclear buildup, and then the Soviet Union as well, then why should anyone be that surprised?
Why should anyone be that surprised that India should suddenly desire bigger and better nukes?
Then include in that mix China, and Pakistan, and the United Kingdom, and France, both North and South Korea, and Israel.
And that list does not touch those countless other nations desiring to engage their own nuclear proliferation program.
Because just as with the newest iPhone or latest Samsung Galaxy, when one friend has one then everybody wants one.

So here we are....
Some 20 days to go.
The time ticking away.
And the entire world suddenly consumed with nuclear proliferation.
All 7.5 billion.
All this resulting from one single man tweeting one single tweet.
And we have but one guy to thank for all of this. Only one.
So.... anyone care to utter the name of he that shall go nameless?
And by the end of the next four years, this will be exactly how he is referred to.
"He that shall go nameless.'

Don't you think they were already working on this before Trump? To believe differently is naive. Way back, I said, no matter who is elected, we are going to potentially be involved in another war. NK, Iran, now India..all countries, who would rather us dead, than alive, are arming up. Obama's poor foreign policy will be his legacy. These increases in power occurred during his watch. He's a bull shit line in the sand flim flam man.

Time to build a fallout shelter?

Will we go back to conducting nuke drills?

Everybody has wanted a nuke since 1945, this is nothing new.

Unless you have a major pressing strategic need that can't be mostly alleviated by aligning with a country that has some they are far more trouble than they're worth.

This, to blame Trump is nothing short of idiocy. Good job Sportage, you're a moron.

To have such a poor grasp of these issues is embarrassing, and you went there.

This is a direct example of your poor grasp of foreign politics, nuclear tech and your blatant partisanship.

Writing a page of lies don't make them true.

Expect a limited nuke exchange between India and Pakistan, they seem determined to nuke each other.

Trump himself spoke openly about wanting South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Japan to have nukes... may as well throw Iran in there too after tearing up the deal.

this shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.

If you don't think they've all been working on nukes for some time, you've had your head in the sand.

With the exception of Iran none of them have done any serious work towards weapons. SK and Japan in particular could have easily had them decades ago since they possess both the material and technical capability but as they are under US strategic protection it was ultimately pointless.

What concerns me is that their neighbor Pakistan also has nukes and once they also achieve the ability to launch them it will introduce even more instability in the region. If your neighbor has a big stick and likes to threaten you with it will you just sit back and take it or will it motivate you to take action to achieve parity with them?

The India Pakistan conflict is so stupid.

But also, Pakistan should never have been created.

"You really shouldn't exist" is probably a non-optimal place to start negotiating from.

Very true.

I do have to agree with compuwiz, and will even go back farther, other nation states have been working on nukes pre Obama, but he was unable to stop them, his foreign policy was pretty sad.

India, Pakistan, and Israel aren't members of the NPT, and all evidently have nukes.

There are no more nuclear weapons states today than when Obama took office. Mere fact. Iran backed away from their program in return for trade & diplomatic concessions.

It really should not have. Like, the ethnic cleansing alone after independence was massive...and unnecessary. That is past history.

I'm still rather amazed at how brazenly aggressive the Pakistanis have been. Like, the Mumbai attacks? Really? And the Parliament building attacks? Pakistan...meh, I can't say it reflects poorly on islam more like it is exactly Islam.

I do not believe that the United States has the authority to impose its will upon every nation of the world. Iran, and every other country for that matter, have the same right to access nuclear power as we do.

No new nations became nuclear during Obama's terms. The deal with Iran will at least hold them at breakout for a decade if not indefinitely. I don't see how this aspect of his foreign policy really deserves much criticism.

I'm not defending Pakistan or India, just pointing out a state of mind that leads nowhere productive.

The Pakistani govt is weak, corrupt & incapable of controlling their own radicals. They have a population of ~180M, only 10 of whom participated in the Mumbai attack. Blanket condemnation of Islam on the basis of that is bullshit.

The radicals are a tool of the ISI in its civil war with the military. The Shrub was quite correct to give the beloved patriot government an ultimatum in the wake of 9/11.
