I downloaded a clip from usenet that had nudity in it yet it had the E! channels logo - I didn't think basic cable had nudity! Was this perhaps from a foreign feed?

Cable TV isn't regulated as much as broadcast television. It's very possible for nudity to be shown on basic cable.

Cable TV isn't regulated at all. They could get away with nudity and profanity but it would cost them advertisers, so they don't.

HBO is a pay channel, which are not regulated by the FCC since it's not on the "public airwaves', but they are trying to regulate these channels as well. Which is why we need to get rid of GWB and his religious rite, enough is enough of them telling us what we can and can't watch based on their 'religious values'.

E! and Comedy Central aren't on the public airwaves either. Cable\satellite exclusive channels = pay channels.Originally posted by: BostonRedSox

The RR has been trying to stiffen morality laws for years with little progress. The LL has been trying to stiffen saftey laws and nanny-state laws for years with BIG progress.
Not to mention, in my life, who tries to tell me what to do with my earnings garners a LOT more negative feelings than who tries to control how much sex I see on TV.
