Taking into consideration that many decades have passed by while the U.S. and Soviet Union collectively stock piled enough to make the Earth uninhabitable many times over, I'd say we're doing good. Add to that the relative newcomers to the club within the past 20 years or so - France, India, Pakistan along with some other veterans - England and China.
Yeah, not a single nuke used aggressively since the A-bombs were dropped on Japan. As a race, we really disproved all the nay-sayers who were convinced we couldn't last this long with this destructive technology right under our fingertips. And yet, here we are today completely unscathed. I'd say the human race deserves a round of applause.
