nuclear war

i thought it was already discussed in another thread that one nuke is not gonna blow the US off the face of the earth. it'll prolly knock out a city or two tho.

there used to be a web site that simulated blast radius of nukes... you could punch in the city, and the size of the nuke and where you live, and it would tell you the damage, casualties, etc.... i am too tired to find it. i am sure its out there.

I think the question should be refined to something remotely realistic such as:

If the goverment knew that Canadian agents were going to set off an atomic weapon in downtown Seattle in 20 minutes- would they make it public?

The answer should be yes but i'm pretty sure it would be no. It's possible they might announce an evacuation of seattle but probably only in the framework of a drill or an unspecified threat. The mass panic and hysteria that would result if they said "There's an atomic weapon exploding in 20 minutes in seattle" would deter them from any specific comments.

Reason I asked is I have family members all over USA and let say they lunch nuclear boom at Los Angels I feel I should have a chances to say good buy to my family members on east coast.

Dude, a nucular lunch would be fun. For the last 20 min of my life, I would have sex with 20 hot women, that would be time well spent!

lol, funniest post I've read in a while 😀

its not possible to shoot a missile down once its launched.

Then why are we wasting all our money on NMD program against ICBMS and shooting them down?

And correct me if im wrong, we have had a few rare successful shoot downs?

It's not "rare". The ratio is off, definitely, but it's still being DEVELOPED. What always irks me is how people always say "its a failure" even though it's not complete, and with each test they get better. So dumb.

The Gov't won't tell us, they'd be too busy trying to prevent the detonation of the bomb, or blowing up the country that sent it. That being said, a couple hundred-thousand warheads would have to launched to obliterate the whole country, so your idea is not very feasable.

You really need to read more before posting.

20 minutes is enough time to hit it twice if you're fast.

or for the religious ones, to pray for forgiveness. or whatever.

of course, in those 20 minutes the idiots will be running around and looting tv's lololololol
