NTSC Composite Inputs: Are they useful on a CRT monitor?

Hey guys,

My ViewSonic monitor has composite inputs on the back and I was wondering if using them would produce a better image on my screen. Are there any useful purposes for them, such as watching DVDs, playstation 2, etc?

Also, does anyone know anything about setting the convergence on a monitor? The top-right hand corner of my display has poor convergence and I want to fix this. Any info would be awesome.
 
Using the composite input would not be beneficial for your PC. Normal VGA cables are the best for that. The image they transmit is so good that you can find the same input on some HDTV sets. Game consoles are the best use for this input. As for DVD, it is better to get a DVD drive for your computer instead, as composite video messes up DVDs.

Convergnce? that's best left to professionals. On most monitors the setting for this would only be available by a mechanism inside the case. Don't hurt yourself trying to adjust this!
 
I already opened the case and found the magnets that I need to adjust...I'm afraid to touch anything though...it's like this stack of magnets wrapped around the neck of the CRT, and they all sit on one another. I'm worried that if I move one, the others may get shifted. I guess I'll just have to live with the 3 square inches of my screen that look like crap. If I had the whitepapers or schematics for the monitor I would be willing to try to adjust it myself, but as it stands right now I'm leaving it alone.
