I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good data/fax modem for use with my NT 4/ BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5 system.
I hear that NT can be, well, picky about the hardware used with it. Someone, for example, told me not to use a PCI modem because of conflicts that communications devices like modems have with NT's Hardware Abstraction Layer. I don't have any problem using an external serial modem; I just want to make sure I get a decent one. I hear that US Robotics makes good modems, and I may just go with their 56K faxmodem (model 005686).
